Wicked Wildfire Read-A-Thon Challenge – Slake Your Thirst

WWReadathon

Welcome to the Slake Your Thirst… challenge at The Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

Until 4PM EST Thursday, all of you Read-A-Thon people have the chance to win a book of your choice  (valued at up to 10.00) from B&N or Book Depository (as long as they ship to your address). But that’s only after completing the challenge, of course!

Challenge:

Share your favorite drink recipe* and the cover of your favorite/most anticipated summer read! Have fun with this, include pictures, the recipe (so we can all try it**) and tell us about your book choice. Have you read it? Are you anxiously awaiting its release this summer? Why?
* this drink can be anything from a smoothie to a hot toddy. Participants under 21~please share your favorite non-alcoholic drink!
** disclaimer: Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer and the hosts of the Wicked Wildfire Read-a-Thon do not endorse under age drinking. As always please drink responsibly.
My favorite refreshing summer drink is a Pina Colada.
Recipe:
3 oz light rum
3 Tbsp coconut cream
3 Tbsp crushed pineapple
Put all ingredients into an electric blender with 2 cups of crushed ice. Blend at a high-speed for a short length of time. Strain into a collins glass and serve with a straw.
My summer read for this year is Summer Sisters by Judy Blume.
Summer Sisters
Synopsis:
When Victoria Leonard answers the phone in her Manhattan office, Caitlin’s voice catches her by surprise. Vix hasn’t talked to her oldest friend in months. Caitlin’s news takes her breath away–and Vix is transported back in time, back to the moment she and Caitlin Somers first met, back to the casual betrayals and whispered confessions of their long, complicated friendship, back to the magical island where two friends became summer sisters.
Caitlin dazzled Vix from the start, sweeping her into the heart of the unruly Somers family, into a world of privilege, adventure, and sexual daring. Vix’s bond with her summer family forever reshapes her ties to her own, opening doors to opportunities she had never imagined–until the summer she falls passionately in love. Then, in one shattering moment on a moonswept Vineyard beach, everything changes, exposing a dark undercurrent in her extraordinary friendship with Caitlin that will haunt them through the years.
